Final Specification

Aesthetics:

* It needs to fit the spec
* It will be green, yellow and red
* It will have a smooth and calm texture
* The shape will be diverse just like the reggae culture, this is linked to my research
* It will be mad out of high impact polystyrene
* The type face used will be contemperory  it will be sans serrif it is called 'sans' because it means without in french.

Customer:

* My target market has the range between 15-25 year olds
* Also for people who love reggae
* It will appeal to them because the type of colours that are linked to reggae will be used
* The design of the product will make them instanly click on that this is the product for them
* It will be a easy packaging structure so will be easier to use and not too complicated

Cost:

* The cost of my final product will depend on the materials used, so if I was using:
 High imapact polystyrene  it would be about £7.00 per m2.
* The cost will be limited as the colours used will be limited and the printer use will be RGB

Ergonomics:

* The ergonomics of the product will be based on the theme.
* The theme is reggae so the ergonomics will have to be specific
* It will be easy to open and close as the customer must be happy with it
* It will have 2 tabs on the side to help in opening the product.

Size:

* The size of the product will be a reasonable giftable size
* It won't be too large or too small
* I will have the ipod in the middle and then the surrounding packaging around it
* It will contain all the information that is necessary
* It will be a size that is easily managed

Safety:

* The packaging will have smoothed edges and curves so that it is safe to use and easier to use, also this will make the aesthetics look better.
* It won't be too hard to open and close this will benefit the customer and aesthetics of the product, and in my research I saw that the products are always safe.

Function:

* The function of this product will be to be a friendly box that can be reused as not only an 'ipod box' but also as a storage box to store anything.
* It is there to alert the customer and to show that this is for them
* It will have two parts, the bottom and the top
* The top is a lid that comes off, it will have the basic reggae colours on it
* The bottom will be the base of the product, the ipod that I will be packaging will be an ipod touch.

Materials:

* The materials used will be High Impact polystyrene which is about £7.00 per m2
* The colour scheme will be over all the product.
* Must be easy to use and stand out

Research for Final Product

This is an image of a water bottle that is actually designed like a mountain . the design is very complexed but it does he job of portraying a mountain very effectively.

This picture is relevant because it shows the type of strong faiths that reggae holds. This also shows that they were into one love and one faith and believed that everything should be equal.

This picture is relevant because it shows a stereotypical rastafarian man, with the dreadlocks and smoking. This is what people think reggae is all about but its not it actually has a meaning to it. 

This type face is also appropriate and also the actual words as i could place this around the outside of the packaging. This has all the basic needs for being a reggae picture.

This type face is great for my ipod packaging as it is very common with reggae and you can find it quite alot, it is appropriate because it really attracts you and it's also pop art and alot more contemporary than the normal 'Times new Roman'.

This picture is relevant because this is the type of final product I want to achieve this currently is the backing for an ipod but i would like to incorprate it to make it part of my final packaging design. 

This is an ipod touch, this is the ipod that i will be using for my final product. I will fit the packaging around the measurements of this ipod and make sure that it aims at reggae lovers.

This type face is relevant because i would also maybe luike to use this whilst making my design.

This picture shows clearly where reggae has orignated from. This is the jamaican flag and as you can see it has red, yellow and green the same colours ofcourse as the rasta's. this is also relevant because it shows where the type of music is actually from.

This picture has a marujana leaf on the front and then the basic red, yellow, green at the back, this is also because reggae was closely related to rastafarianism this was the religion in which they smoked alot of marujana as this is what they believed made them feel good. this is relvant as it is closely related to bob marley as he also was a rasta and believed in the same.

This picture is very relevant as this is actually true because ' reggae is the story of jamaican music' as this music is absoloutely original and hasn't had any impact from other types of music it is original just like my desig.

This is the type of theme that i will have on ther ipod as the basic setting. I will have this as the first thing that you see on the packaging, to show that this is the theme. This picture gives a basic idea about how it will be used on the box as the bok will be clear and you will be able to see through it and see the above picture. 

This is the regae peace sign, alot of p-eople who love reggae will display these in their cars, windows,and i have one in my bedroom you can get them from any sticker shops really. Also i will be replacing the apple stickers that be inside the packaging with these reggae stickers.

The colour scheme of this is green, yellow, red.this is relevant because this is the colour that my packaging is going to be , to show who its aimed at. Also the type face used, i would like to use sometyhing similar to it on my final product.

This is Bob Marley. he inspires me. he played reggae and helped spread it globally. he is one of the best reggae singers and has been known famously around the world for it.
